Sidney Steele is an incoming senior at Lincoln High School in Cambridge City, Indiana, and is a member of the Western Wayne FFA Chapter in District IX. Steele resides in Milton. At Lincoln High School, Steele competes in FFA, BPA, is a member of the Archery Team, FCA, and Lincoln Teens. In BPA, 2015, Steele placed 3rd at State and 7th at Nationals in the Presentation Management competition. Steele is very involved in her FFA chapter, and is currently serving as her Chapter’s President. During 2015-2016, Steele served as the District IX Treasurer. She has competed in the Horticulture Demonstration and Agriculture and Farm Business Management Demonstration CDE’s, and competes on the livestock judging team. Within the past two years, Steele was awarded the Outstanding Sophomore and Outstanding Junior awards. Steele plans to attend Purdue University to double major in Agriculture Education and Agronomy.
Emma Hall is a Junior at Scottsburg Senior High School. Emma is very involved in FFA and 4-H activities throughout the year. Emma currently holds Secretary in the Scottsburg FFA chapter. Throughout her FFA Career Hall has participated in many CDE events including Quiz Bowl, Livestock Judging and also in a Horticulture Demonstration. Hall has grown up and worked on a farm which raises cattle and poultry. She has shown cattle and poultry for 8 consecutive years as well as swine for 5 years. She also holds Secretary in the Clark County 4-H Junior Leaders. Emma has many plans to advance forward in FFA and she believes that serving on the State FFA Newsroom is a great way to work to achieve that.
Sara Edwards is entering her senior year at Scottsburg Senior High School, hailing from the Scottsburg FFA as their Chapter President. She began her FFA career as a freshman, and has served as a chapter officer throughout high school. Edwards has participated in a number of CDE events, including Quiz Bowl, Scrapbook, Agriculture Education, Food Science Demonstration, as well as Horse Judging.
Edwards resides on a small farm in Underwood, just outside of Scottsburg. Here, she rides, raises, and shows several head of horses, primarily focusing on the Reining and Ranch horse disciplines. In addition to horses, she also raises a few head of poultry and waterfowl. Sara is also very active in her county 4-H, Youth Grantmaking Council, Hugh O’Brian Youth, and several other leadership and service organizations.
Drake Davis just graduated high school as a six year member of FFA at Southmont High School in Crawfordsville, IN. He has participated in numerous FFA contests. This includes State winning Crops, Soils, Floriculture, and Ag Mechanics. He was named Number one individual in the 2015 Soils contest. His team traveled to Oaklahoma, this past spring, to compete at the national land judging contest where Drake did well. Drake restores tractors for the National Chevron Delo FFA Tractor Restoration Contest.
He has placed in the top twelve for the past three years and advanced to third place national champion in 2015. He is currently working on his fourth tractor for this year’s contest.Drake is also a ten year member of 4-H and an Eagle Scout. Drake plans to attend Parkland College, in Champaign IL, in the fall. He has been sponsored by the Bane / Welker Case Dealership in the Case / New Holland Ag Mechanics Program.
